What is special about our Lewis chairs?

Our Scandinavian retro chair "Lewis" follows the example of its original design and offers quality in material, clarity in form and reliability in seating comfort. in 1959, Arne Jacobsen designed the POT CHAIR for the Hotel Royal in Copenhagen. And every place where the chair stood, whether in the conservatory, in the bar, next to the lift, on every floor, became a popular meeting place for extended conversations.

The high-quality imitation leather cover in the warm earthy colours of brown, dark grey and green is robust and easy to clean and also gives the chair class and the flair of sociability and belonging.

The ergonomically shaped seat shell is made of impeccable polypropylene and has a 2 cm thick foam padding of hardness 32, so you can actually sit on it comfortably for hours.

The powder-coated metal frame in geometric design guarantees stability and really high load-bearing capacity up to 250 kg.

The plastic glides on the feet ensure a secure stand and scratch-free movement of the chairs. We recommend felt glides for tiles. These are not included

Our quality criteria for imitation leather:

• We use PVC imitation leather of the highest quality.



The benchmark for quality is the surface and thickness of the imitation leather.
Imitation leather with PVC surface is of high quality, very robust, highly light-resistant, very easy to clean and therefore very durable and long-lasting. This makes our imitation leather ideal for intensive and long commercial use. Our imitation leather is composed of 2% PU, 83% PVC, 15% PES.

The thicker, the more stable and durable the imitation leather. We use 1.2 mm thick imitation leather.

Thinimitation leather: < 0.5 mm. Very stretchy and soft. For clothing and light shoes.
Medium-thick imitation leather: 0.5 - 1 mm. Much stiffer and stronger than thin imitation leather. For bags, purses and sturdier shoes.
Thick imitation leather: > 1 mm. Quite stiff, but also very robust. Mainly for upholstered furniture, interior trim of cars and boats.

Our quality criteria for foams:

• We use high-quality foam with RG30 SH50.


The
yardsticks for quality are foam density (given in volume weight RG) and compression hardness (given in Pascal
).
Foams with a high volume weight are clearly more resilient, which means that few to no cavities form even after long use.


Foam thicknesses:


RG20 - RG 30: 20 - 30 kg/m3 = minimum quality for back cushions and soft seat cushions, soft (low-priced mattresses), dog cush
ions.
Durability 1 - 2 years

RG30 - RG40: 30 - 40 kg/m3 = standard to upmarket quality for seat and back cushions, mattresses, boat, camping or garden pads etc.
Durability 5 - 6 years

RG40 - RG50: 40 - 50 kg/m3 = high to very high quality and extremely permanently elastic quality for all applications.Durability > 6 years
The compression hardness is measured in Pascal, a physical unit for pressure
.
The higher the value, the harder the foam.


Foam hardness:


30 - 40 hpa = Soft quality for seat and back cushions or soft mattresses (compression hardness 1)

40 - 50 hpa = Standard firmness for seat cushions, firm mattresses, boat, camping or garden cushions (compression hardness 2)

50 - 60 hpa = Firm seating quality even for very firm mattresses (compression hardness 3

)
