What are the advantages of cast aluminium?

Aluminium is a material that is extremely weather-resistant. It forms a corrosion-resistant oxide layer on contact with the air and is also UV-resistant. Should the protective layer become damaged, it virtually repairs itself.


Can cast aluminium rust?

Aluminium does not rust. This is because it does not contain any iron - unlike other metals. It is true that aluminium reacts with oxygen on its surface in a similar way to iron, but while iron oxide crumbles away on contact with water, a thin protective layer forms on aluminium oxide.
