Thin plastic films: Thin PVC or PET films can be laminated onto chipboards or MDF panels to create a decorative finish. These are generally less robust and less durable than HPL. Simple paint coatings: Wood or chipboards can be painted directly. While this can produce a nice finish, it does not offer the same protection or longevity as HPL.
